Of course Matt's car is now pretty much the Space Junkyard. He has so much trash in that car it's incredible. When I was down there a few weekends ago I had to move a random can of soup out of my way so I could sit down.
And Boy, you forgot the old name of your car "Abe". For Abraham Lincoln. I'll post a pic of my jeep when I get home. It's name: The Red Dragon.

Also, the title of this forum reminds me of Sixteen Candles.
Grandfather: Dong, where is my automobile?
Long Duk Dong: Oto-mo-biiile? Oto-mo-biiile? *screach* Wreck... big wreck....

I said I'd post pics of my jeep when I got home, but apparently I don't have any?. I have one from the back side, so try that on for size.
It's basically the same as Boy's except a crappy cheaper version. Oh, and red.

Hahaha, that's great. So you're the one keeping Citgo alive. You must have been in the middle of no where or something. Everytime I see a Citgo, I just can't do it. Most of their stops don't even have "Pay-at-the Pump" yet.
Crappier version my ass! It's still a jeep!

Ha, yeah Boy and I were in the middle of a roadtrip and ran out of gas in the middle of nowhere Alabama. Hence stopping at some shitty-ass Citgo.
As for my crappy car.... it's nice, just not as nice as Boy's. Mr. Jeep Limited. Seat warmer, digital compass, fancy pants.

Mine (a 95 Civic LX) is just lucky to be running. Maybe Crumbles could fix my car, so that it actually lets you know how fast you are going and get rid of the Engine Light that is ALWAYS on. *cough* new car *cough* ;)

Dude holy shit... I drove past your old apartment building the other day and thought about that...remember driving there from your office going about 7 because the muffler kept scraping the ground?
Crumbles: Uhhh dude...are you sure you want all these
SCSInet: Oh yeah, I can always use em' for parts
Crumbles: It's just that your car seems pretty low. Is it safe to put all that weight in there?
SCSInet: Oh just throw another dozen or so in the front seat...that oughta balance it out!
Crumbles: wow...
What's even funnier is that in the trunk shot you can see a blue thing underneath the "Back UPS Office 280" pile. That's my fucking miter saw...which is about the only thing I can think of that weighs more than those UPS's did...

Thanks. If anyone is interested, I have my before/after pics on my site: http://jottman.home.comcast.net/auto.html . I am pretty proud of it. The reason, it looks like two different colors on the above pics, is because I rolled my truck after I painted it the first time and had to redo it all over again. Anyway, c-ya. johno

Believe it or not, there was no drinking involved. Just stupidity and blindness. It was about 2am and me and my friends were out cruz'n around (my friends had a '62 Nova and a '57 Chevy). Anyway, I got in the left-hand turn lane a little too soon and hit one of those curb-islands they have in the middle of the street for who knows why. They removed all of the yellow caution paint on the curb and replaced it with 'invisible-black' so I would have no warning until it was too late.
Anyway, I see this curb-island at the last minute and crank my wheel to the left. My front wheels smack the curb, and my backend slides over and hits the curb as well. Since my truck is top heavy, I proved that the law of inertia (objects in motion stay in motion) is still true and tipped my truck. The top of the cab smashed on the corner of the curb, the front and back fenders had damge on them. This was all during my college summer break and my truck was my only vehicle to get back to school 5 hours away. So, I spent the rest of the summer redoing all the body work and primer.
Then, check this out, I get all the body work done and take it out for its 1st trip since the accident. I get about 2 miles from my parents house and my engine catches on fire! Ran to the nearest house and got a fire extinguisher and put the fire out. Towed it back to the house. I guess when I tipped the truck, the float in the carburater got stuck and when I was driving it over-filled with fuel. The fuel got onto my spark plugs and I found out that when you add fuel to spark plugs, it ignites. Spent the rest of what little summer I had left rewiring the engine compartment. This was all on a poor college kids budget of $10 bucks at a time.
Well, that's the story of me wrecking my truck. So, I guess I didn't "roll" it, just tipped it. According to my friend in the '57 Chevy, that was right behind me when I tipped it, "it was awesome! Just like American Grafiti". Hope you enjoyed the story.

HAhahah! That was a great story, I wish I had been there to see that.
One of my friends used to have this old ass Mustang we called "The Iron Horse."
It used to shoot the hubcap off at people if we turned corners really fast. I'm sure Hawkeye can tell more stories about it than I seeing as he used to ride in it more than me.
Thanks for sharing though, that's pretty fucking funny!

One of my friends used to have this old ass Mustang we called "The Iron Horse."1966 Ford Mustang in white. Full name: The Iron Horse, or "The Horse" for short. It never quite looked like the below picture. It had more rust coloration and was missing a lot of the hood ornaments (the front spelled "ORD" instead of "FORD"). It also had a large indention in the back quarter panel, about the size and shape of a stop sign.... I'll post stories about this later.

I've been checking out a Bimmer forum for tips and am toying with the idea of doing my own brakes (prob with some help from a car friend). I wanted to know if anyone has done their own brakes, or know how hard it is.

I wanted to know if anyone has done their own brakes, or know how hard it is.SCSINet here on the forums knows a shitload about cars. He has done a shitload of car work for me. He has replaced my rotars, and brakepads several times, in several of my cars. I don't know about Beamers, but, changing these things in Honda's is very easy. I'd say it's more tedious than being hard. I know some cars require you to make sure you clamp down on the rotors so you don't lose break fluid while you are changing them out. The Honda's don't make you do that which makes it 10 times easier. Not sure how a Beamer does it though...
Anyway, I know he's a Beamer fan, so you might want to PM him about it to ask. I'm sure he could give you some advice.
