Watch the trailer.

This movie looks really cool from what I have seen, and read about it on the internet. It looks like it resembles the movie Brazil, in a post apocalyptic world setting. The plot of the movie is basically this: The last woman to have a baby gave birth 18 years ago, since then no woman has become pregnant and no one knows why.

Whats odd about this movie, is that it was released all over the world before it was released here in the U.S. From what ive read on the internet, it is already being described as a masterpiece.

The two big actors in it are Michael Caine and Julianne Moore.

Anyways, thought you guys might be interested.

edit: Its got a 91 on rotten tomatoes

Watch the trailer.First, how do you watch trailers in Firefox? It tells me I have to install Quicktime, and I'll be damed if I ever fucking install that piece of shit....

Second, is this movie "rentable?"

I run quicktime, so I dont know what to tell you. I havent had any problems with quicktime.

I doubt the movie is rentable, its not out in the theaters here yet, and it just left the theaters in the U.K.

edit: Protargol found it on google video if you want to watch it there.

He, prob didn't check for you... heh

Yeah, this movie looks crazy cool. I like these post apocalyptic world movies, because besides the liberties they take to destroy the world, I think they've got the mass human behavior down, i.e. rioting, fighting, etc.

After watching that trailer, I def had a dream that I was in that world, but I don't remember what all happened. I think I was just happy cause I was going to be "on the ship".

My friend was telling me about some new Showtime series that came out recently called Dexter. It's about a serial killer, who kills serial killers. Sounded interesting. I might start "renting that" as well.

<insert Matt's argument why we should all be armed with 12 months supply of ammo here>Meh, I would never try to convince anyone to do that. It's not my problem if they are fucked. And dude, you have no fucking idea how crazy deep shit like that goes with me.

Can you explain this one? I havent watched Jericho, but from what ive seen its just about some nuclear explosions, and the post apocalyptic world afterwords. I'm not seeing the connection. And the fact that this movie was in production before Jericho, make me think its not so much a ripoff.

Dexter is the sheeeit!!!!! Its really cool. I recommend it and I dare not stray from HBO series often. Dead like Me and Dexter are the only recent exceptions.

Dude, just because of the fact that Michael Caine is in it, I'll fucking watch it. He fucking rules. Speaking of him, did you ever watch "The Weather Man" like I told you to check out yet, Boy? Such a great fucking movie.

So I watched this movie tonight. It was incredibly good. Its definitely one of those movies where everything just comes together perfectly. I.e. there isnt just one strong point of the film thats good, its all good. The casting, the acting, the art direction, the music, the storyline, the filming... was all amazing.

I'd have to say to me the camera work, and art direction on this movie impressed me the most. A majority of the scenes in this movie are done in one continuous shot... i.e. the cameraman follows the actors in and out of buildings all the while tanks are shooting etc. Its really interesting to see, and keeps you immersed in the film. Its one of those films where you arent constantly checking how long you have been watching it, and how much longer you have to go. You just start watching and bam your like shit, I want more.

The only complaint I can think of right now is that the film is somewhat depressing, but thats not really a complaint just a fact. And I guess the ending could have had a bit more resolution, but I still think I like the way they ended it.

Basically, go "rent" this movie... its good.

I don't know if it was mentioned yet but the soundtrack to this rocks. Radiohead, Roots Manuva, Aphex Twin and DMZ aka Digital Mystikz. Its the last track on the soundtrack and is a really new emerging genre of music known as Dub Step, its like UK garage dubby slowed down shit. Teh new hotness!
