So apparently this lady has mad connections to me. She was my sister's soccer coach in her 8th grade year at our middle school. She also ended up marrying my Techonology teacher from the same school, Mr. Turner, and thats why her last name is Turner. Apparently he asked her to marry him but didnt want to move to Tennesee with her, but ended up doing so. Poor guy, she just gotten himself rejected and not have moved...

Don't worry, she pleaded "not-guilty" on all 4 charges. Despite the kid admitting it, taped cell phone conversations where she says she fucked him, and also her cousin witnessing one of the times.

Her lawyer says he plans to use the insanity plea if the prosecution goes for the full 15 year sentence. Apparently her sister was killed by a drunk driver a year before this happened and her family says she "hasn't been right" ever since.

TAMPA - A prosecutor and defense attorney stood in court on Monday to say they could not come to a pre-trial deal in the case of Debra Lafave, the Greco Middle School teacher accused of having sex with her 14-year-old student.

"Negotiations have broken off and now it's going to trial,'' defense attorney John Fitzgibbons said after the hearing. "It's time to tee it up."

Judge Wayne Timmerman set a trial date for Dec. 5. The trial is expected to last about two weeks.

Am I the only one who thinks significant hard time for a statutory rape case is excessive? I mean yeah if it was my wife who was banging that little boy I would want her to rot but I dont know. What I find humorous about this entire situation is how much of a double standard America has. You know that if this was a male teacher and a 14 year old girl that the shit would have hit the fan. He would have already been convicted and preparations made for his public flogging.

We have another one...Sandra Beth Geisel out on bail for having sex twice with a 16 year old student. One of those times was in the football pressbox. TAMPA, FL - Debra Lafave, the former Greco Middle School teacher, accused of having sex with a 14-year-old boy, plead guilty to committing lewd or lascivious battery on a teenager. Her attorney came to a plea agreement with prosecutors Tuesday.

As part of the agreement, Lafave, 25, will serve three years community control (house arrest), and seven years probation.

She will be classified as a sexual offender, and must register in the state's law enforcement database. The Florida Department of Education Department will revoke her teaching certificate.

Judge Rejects Lafave Plea Deal

A judge has rejected a plea deal in which a former teacher would have avoided prison time for having sex with a 14-year-old student, prosecutors said.

Under an agreement reached last month, Debra Lafave, 25, would have been sentenced to three years of house arrest and seven years' probation after pleading guilty to two counts of lewd and lascivious battery. Had she been convicted of the charges at trial, she could have been sentenced to 30 years in prison.

The agreement was meant to resolve charges in two counties, but a judge in one of the counties balked, Ric Ridgeway, a spokesman for the State Attorney's Office, said Thursday.

Judge Hale Stancil set an April trial date, but Ridgeway said the attorneys will be back before the judge with a new deal by then. He didn't say what the judge's concerns were, only that he wanted changes.

The outstanding charges against Lafave claim she had sex with the boy in a sport utility vehicle while his 15-year-old cousin drove.

Defense attorney John Fitzgibbons said the judge indicated he wanted to hear expert information about a trial's potential impact on the two boys.

Last month, Hillsborough Circuit Judge Wayne Timmerman said LaFave, whose sexual liaisons made tabloid headlines, will forever lose her teaching certificate, must register with the state as a sexual predator, may not have any contact with children including the victim. He also said she will not be allowed to profit from the sale of her story or personal appearances.

So it looks like shes going to get away with no jail time....I think this is only 1 of 2 cases against her. Apparently she was brought up on charges in two Florida counties because she had sex at her house and school in one county, then had sex while driving through another county.

But overall, yeah, she's not getting jail time. The first court case against her a few months ago pretty much just gave her a slap on the wrist.

The original case and sentencing: "On November 22, 2005, Lafave pleaded guilty to a single count and was sentenced to three years of Community Control (house arrest) and seven years of probation. Additionally, Judge Timmerman placed several restrictions on Ms. Lafave intended to keep her from profiting financially off of this case. Her teaching license was also revoked."

I realize that this may have been traumatic to the little guy (looking at her, I have no idea how), but how can you bring a lawsuit or charges against someone and then not expect to be examined by the defendant's lawyer? It kind of makes no sense to bring charges against someone if the person who was 'wronged' won't be scrutinized.

I heard they just lowered the age of consent to something like 15 in SC. Not that this has any bearing on a 23 year old molesting school kids but what kind of lawmakers passed that shit?
I guess if both parties are around that age it shouldn't always be considered rape but still it creates a method of thought that at 15 kids are old enough to consent. Its just not right.
