Well, I watched most of the Yankees game last night (feel asleep around 10:30PM or so) and woke up to find out they lost! Supposidly no one has ever come back from a 3-0 series, but it is now 3-2 so we shall see! Anyone else here a Yankee fan?

When did you become a Yankees fan? Hell, when did you start liking baseball? Haven't you always been an Orioles fan, anyway?

Oreo fan maybe. The Or*oles have let me down for me to even speak their name. Maybe if Dresden gets a team. Oh that'd be sweet!

See what you need to do is become a Braves fan, instead of jumping on the Yankee bandwagon with every other person in this country. Be unique! Support a team that *doesn't* win every damn year.

Well I'm confident the Red Soxs will win game 6 and probably lead game 7 until the bottom of the 9th. Why do I go out and say this? Because I am confident that God hates them and by giving them hope, will make their fall be even more painful. How do they break the Bambino's curse? I say they trade a real player for him. That way, he'll finally be back with the Red Soxs and they can stop bitching about making the worse trade ever.

Pshh... whatever, it has NEVER HAPPEND EVER IN BASEBALL. EVER! The fucking odds of it happening are so fucking slim it's not even funny! It's the curse damnit! They should have never gotten rid of good ole Babe and maybe they'd have a chance to win tonight. But instead... they will lose.... o yes, they will lose... I'll be posting in here tonight with a good chuckle damnit!

More like "Curse of the Crumbles", buddy. That's awesome, like the same week you decide to start watching baseball, the team you pick to cheer for (who has been to the World Series like 8 years in a row) suddenly loses and all its bandwagon fans fall off the wagon.

Hahaha, that's great, I'm quoting meself. Anyway, I take this back, they have not broken the curse since 1918, they would have to actually win the world series to break this curse. apparently it was sometime in the 80's since they actually got INTO the world series itself.

yes...yes....the yanks have bitten the big one this season, and to the hated Red Sox. However, I do see some good in this. Now maybe every schmuck out there with a grudge will stop bitching about the Yanks spending so much money to win when small market teams can't. The Red Sox have the SECOND highest payroll, right behind the yanks. Nobody seems to bitch when they win.

That's because the Red Sox just boosted their payroll within the last three years. Where as the Yanks have been breaking the bank for at least a decade. Not to mention that the Yanks payroll is still $66 million more than the Red Sox.

And my reason for hating the Yankees equates to strictly my hatred for bandwagon fans.

Why? Friends get me into sports teams. I would never give two shits about UT if it wern't for you. Now I root for them. It's sorta like fan recruitment.

I guess the point of my previous post was that in my opinion, most people who hate the Yankees say they hate them because they have the highest payroll in the game, when I think they hate them because they have the highest payroll in the game AND THEY WIN A LOT.
As for the bandwagon issue, I totally agree. However, I don't see someone who has never followed baseball before a bandwagon fan. In my opinion, a bandwagon fan is one who follows whatever team is winning that season. I was born in New England in 1975 (Red Sox World series year.) I was eleven, and at peak age for baseball interest in 1986 (Red Sox World Series year), However, I am a yankee fan through and through. Even through the horrible Stump Merrill years.

I'm not referring to you. I'm referring to the people that Chairbreaker is talking about. Those who just sort of float from team to team depending on who has been winning the most.

I just give you shit about being a bandwagoner b/c that's what I do.
